"Aiyah, the weather is so hot," my five-year old brother will retort whenever my mum chides him for walking about the house in his birhtday suit. He does that after his bath every time for a good ten minutes before putting on his clothes. Even on days when he has to go to school and with only half an hour to spare from the time he wakes up to when the school bus arrives (and he has to complete a number of tasks) he will display this quirky behaviour. After his shower, he will sit at the table in the buff to eat his breakfast before changing into his school uniform.
As soon as he gets home from school, he will strip out of his uniform and devour his lunch before putting on any shred of cloths. Sometimes when he is too tired, he will just lie on the living room sofa and sleep in the buff.
Occasionally, after he steps out of the bathroom, he will perform a dance with only the towel he has used to dry himself slung across his shoulders. Some of the moves are rather creative and I find his acts quite amusing. That is until he start singing. What irritates me is that he substitutes the lyrics of songs he knows, or any tune he can conjure up, with my name. The more I show annoyance, the more does it. (To date, he still does it really frequently.)
I can't quite remember when he started having this queer habit. Thank goodness, he is eight years old (at that point in time) otherwise we could have had the police knocking on our door in response to neighbours' complaints of indecent exporsure. The other fortunate thing is that our house is in a secluded corner at the end of a cul-de-sac.
In a bid to get my brother to stop his behaviour, my dad threatend to film his antics and send them to his classmates. However he just laughs it off as empty threats. He knows my dad would never do such a thing. Even when my mum said that it will be shameful should neighbours happen to glance into our house and see him in the nude, he would simply give a nonchalant shrug.
Well, I feel that my parents should not be overly concerned. SOmehow, I know that he will grow out of such quirks. Despite his lack of inhibition at home, he is surprisingly shy in public places. He will always ask to go to the fitting room to try one his clothes and would never agree to remove his shirt or pants out in the open.
On hindsight... I don't he's changed much... Although, fear not, you will no longer find a streaker when you pop over for a visit. :)
